CAMPAIGN SLOGAN - Student
A campaign slogan can be very important to someone running for office. Especially the office of President of the United States. It can set a tone for the campaign. If it is a catchy phrase, it will stick in peoples minds. Then whenever they hear the phrase, they will think of that candidate. A short, meaningful campaign slogan can easily be put on buttons, signs, t-shirts and hats. If you see a sign in someone's yard with that catchy slogan on it, you think of the candidate. If you see someone wearing a pin, hat or t-shirt with the campaign slogan on it, you also think of the candidate. The key is getting people to think about your candidate. And what better way than to have a catchy slogan. It's a lot like advertising campaigns used by big companies. You hear "Just Do It" and you know it's a Nike ad. "You deserve a break today" reminds you of McDonalds. "Have it your way" automatically make you think of Burger King. A campaign slogan is used the same way. "Yes we can!" was used by Barack Obama. Every time you heard that slogan, you knew what candidate they were talking about. George W. Bush used "No child left behind." Campaign slogans are used just like an ad campaign for Toyota or Wendy's. It's used to get the candidates name recognized by the American public. A good campaign slogan can also sway a voter who isn't sure which person he is going to vote for. The slogan can relate to what the candidate wants to change or it can just get stuck in a voters head and make them vote for that person because they keep hearing that slogan over and over again. The best campaign slogans are the short ones that a large crowd can chant easily. Just watch a presidential rally before an election. The crowd can be whipped into a frenzy when it is chanting the campaign slogan of their candidate. Some people have no clue what the candidate really stands for, but they know his campaign slogan and will yell it over and over again. A good campaign slogan can be just as important as anything else a candidate says. To run for an office, get a catchy campaign slogan and print it on anything that can be displayed. It just may win you the election.
