EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT - Sample
There are many jobs today that require employment contracts. These contracts are designed to protect both the employer and the employee. Each party should retain an attorney to review the contract to make sure that each side's interests are taken into account. The most well known types of contracts to the average person are for sports figures or anyone in the entertainment profession. It is very common to hear of a young sports star signing a contract for millions of dollars. The terms of these contracts include a variety of things such as the length of service before a player can search for another team and rules of the team. Many times in sports contracts clauses are written in should the player become injured or disabled. These contracts call for a specified amount of money to be paid over a certain period of years. The entertainment field also has various contracts. A musician many times will have a contract when they play for large concert halls and stage performances. These contracts are set for a certain time, some might be renewable yearly. Performers contracts specify the number of shows that they must perform in each season and similar items. Actors and actresses sign employment contracts when they agree to perform in a particular movie or television show. These contracts typically guarantee a payment for each show that a performer is in during a television season. Such contracts are in place for regulars on television shows as well as recurring characters. A recurring contract sets down a particular number of shows that an actor must appear in during the television series. Doctors have contracts to set their hours at a hospital, nursing facility or similar place. These spell out the number of hours that the doctor is to work during the week, shifts, rotation and length of employment. Many of these agreements have a clause that the doctor can not practice medicine within a certain mile radius once they leave their present position. This process is often applied to contracts within the sales industry. If a sales person leaves one sales force there are usually restraints and areas within which they can not seek employment. This is usually within the same industry. However, if a salesman changes products, usually a prior contract would not be an issue.
