Chilis restaurant

I was reluctant to try Chilis because I am not a fan of Mexican food. Did Chilis turn me around!! I have been to two different Chilis on five occasions and found both to be excellent. This description is based on my last visit. My daughter and I were greeted warmly and seated promptly. The waitress announced the specials and even asked if we had coupons. She took our drink order which gave us time to look at the appetizers. A wide variety of mixed drinks is available featuring specials. On cue she returned to take the dinner order. At all times she removed used plates, napkins and refreshed beverages. The dessert and coffee order was taken just as perfectly. This is service! A large assortment of appetizers gets the meal off to a great start. Nachos, buffalo wings and stuffed potato skins are some of the offerings. Each one we tried was presented beautifully and had a twist of its own. Buffalo wings in a green sauce was so good. The main menu is diversified and anyone can find something delicious on its menu. There entree choices include salads, chicken, beef, salmon, shrimp and pasta. Every category provides something for the not so adverterous diners. There are plenty of options for the spice lovers as well. Everytime the food has arrived piping hot with instructions not to touch the plate. The portions are large and it is not unusual to see people leaving with doggie bags. Most meals include a choice of either one or two sides. The selections are wonderful ranging from rice, beans, fries, baked potato, vegetable, and cole slaw. The cole slaw is absolutely addicting. It is in a wet dressing with bits of jalapeno pepper, spices and other ingredients. It is spicy, but not overbearing and goes great with any dish. The dessert menu rounds out a wonderful meal. There are many to choose from but the "sweet shots" are sinfully delicious. There are five varieties to choose from and they arrive in a shot glass. The red velvet cake is a perfect finish. There are two layers or red velvet cake with a delightful white frosting in between. It is the perfect amount for any appetite.
